August 25, 2026 update

Thank you for your input
From June 23 to July 31, 2026, the District held a public comment period regarding the draft Terms of Reference for the Ambleside and Dundarave Parking Study.

Thank you to the 38 participants who took the time to share their feedback. We received feedback from residents of Ambleside, Dundarave, and other parts of West Vancouver, local business owners and employees, park users, community sports and recreation groups, and visitors from outside the District.

Participants told us whether the proposed study areas capture the places where parking matters to them, identified the kinds of communities that would make the most useful comparisons, and raised a wide range of considerations—from loading, accessibility, and drop-off needs to the relationship between park parking and adjacent commercial areas. Some participants also shared their views on pay parking generally—both in opposition and support.

How this input will be used
Feedback received during the comment period will be considered, along with technical and financial information, as the District and its expert consultants undertake the study.

Feedback regarding the study areas and on comparable communities will help shape the scope of the background review, data analysis, and regional scan set out in the Terms of Reference, and the broader comments we received will be carried forward for consideration as the work progresses.

This comment period was an opportunity to shape what the study looks at and how. In fall 2026, we plan to provide a further opportunity for input once the study has produced options and recommendations for parking in Ambleside and Dundarave.
